Umuoji community pledges total votes for Ngige

The people of Umuoji in Ide­mili North Lo­cal Government Area of Anambra State have assured the All Progressives Congress (APC) senatorial candi­date for Anambra Cen­tral senatorial district, Senator Dr. Chris Ngige of their total votes in the forthcoming election.
The community gave the assurance on Wednes­day when Senator Ngige visited them in continua­tion of his campaign for a return to the Senate.
Speaking at the occa­sion, former President- General of Umuoji Im­provement Union, Chief Obi Onwuachu said that Umuoji community was fully committed to Ngige and would continue to de­liver their bulk votes for him as pay back for the good works he did in the town both as governor of Anambra state and as a Senator.
Chief Onwuachu said Senator Ngige had con­tinued to endear himself to the people with his laudable programmes.
He noted with delight that more than 50 stu­dents from Umuoji were already enjoying scholar­ship offered to them un­der Senator Ngige Schol­arship Foundation, while many more would soon join the scholarship list.
Chief Onuwachu also extolled Senator Ngige for constructing the Nk­por Junction Umuoji – Nnobi road which he said, had remained durable be­cause of its high quality.
Also speaking at the occasion, an APC stake­holder in Umuoji, Chief Okey Obadike com­mended Senator Ngige for what he described as his excellent performance in the Senate.
He appealed to him to carry his campaign to Mgbago Umuoji, where he said that his numerous supporters were waiting his him.
Addressing the crowd, Senator Ngige com­mended the community for their unfettered sup­port and pledged to at­tract more constituency projects to them if voted-back to the Senate.
Ngige who had ear­lier visited members of Umuoji Catholic Laity Council said that Umuoji had remained strongly behind him in his political carrier, and would always be remembered in his programmes.
He told the people to collect forms for the 2015 batch of scholarship so that those who did not benefit in 2014 would have the opportunity to be part of beneficiaries.
He had earlier in the day taken his campaign to Ukwulu, Nawgu and Umudioka, where he was received by enthusias­tic supporters and party faithful who pledged their commitment to vote mas sively for him in the sena­torial election.
Among those who re­ceived Senator Ngige at Nawgu and Ukwulu were students from the two communities who re­ceived his scholarship.
