Nigeria, Chad agree on extra measures against Boko Haram

 Alex Badeh
The governments of Nigeria and Chad have agreed on additional measures in their military cooperation against Boko Haram.
At a bilateral meeting between the two countries, progress in the fight against the terror group was reviewed.
The Nigerian Chief of Defence Staff, Alex Badeh, an air chief marshal, and the Chadian representative, Brahim Mahamat, a major general, noted that the recent successes in the various fronts of the operations in the Lake Chad Basin area were satisfactory.
They also resolved to enhance established structures for the coordination and logistics of the combined operations towards a speedy defeat of terrorism in the region.
In addition, the delegates discussed details of the ongoing onslaught on terrorism as a follow up to an earlier one held in January.
Nigeria and Chad are currently involved along with other countries in military operations aimed at stamping out the activities of terrorists who have constituted a menace to security in the entire region.
The operational team is referred to as the Multinational Joint Task Force, MNJTF, headquartered in Baga, a town in Borno State.
Boko Haram has overtime unleashed terror in the North Eastern part of Nigeria killing many and displacing others.
