Chime, Ekweremadu, Ugwuanyi storm Enugu West
Governor Sullivan Chime yesterday stormed the Enugu West senatorial district with other stalwarts of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to renew the agreement the party entered into with the people in 1999.
The governor who came to Oji River Local Government Area (LGA) for the resumption of the party’s campaigns, urged the people to support the candidates of the party in order to realise their dream.
Earlier the Deputy Senate President, Senator Ike Ekweremadu who is from the district said they would develop a blue-print showing areas of infrastructure lack in the zone to aid the incoming governor on the development of the area.
Ekweremadu said that the representatives of the senatorial zone were desirous that the area got all social amenities before 2019.
He assured the people that the agreement entered into by the PDP in 1999 to develop the state was still on course, saying that Governor Chime had assured him that he would hand over the agreement to Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi when he assumed office as next governor. He also said that as Ugwuanyi was their friend it would not be difficult for them to push through the agreement, urging the people to vote for the PDP to realise this plan.
When Ugwuanyi mounted the podium, he agreed to abide by the agreement reached with the party.
He said already he has the document showing the development plan of the state, promising not to deviate from it.
Ugwuanyi said that they had earlier upon arrival to the council visited the traditional rulers in the area who assured him of their support.
